Governor of Florida Signs New Helmet Law

Covernor Crist signed a new law in the state of Florida to protect children while riding horseback. Named after a 12 year old girl from Loxahatchee Florida who dies in 2006 while riding her horse without a helmet.

The law states that children under the age of 16 must wear a helmet while riding on roads or right a ways and also while taking lessons. The fine for those who do not adhere will be $500.
