Children’s missing the mark in school is not an isolated incident with just a few children but is growing nationally with studies showing the annual dropout reaching more than 500,000 per year. This is happening for many reasons and most children and parents do not know what to do to overcome the cycle.

Adhd seems to be a common label that many children are given these days and for many it is a label that they might never overcome the damaging affects of. Some common traits of children labeled, as ADHD are low self-esteem, shyness, inability to communicate, being bullied, misunderstood for their gifts, never feeling like they fit in, poor grades and more.

At 15 years old teen, Danielle Herb, was given the label of ADHD at five years of age is on a mission to help other children and parents understand there is another way that will lift their children to success and build upon their strengths instead of capitalizing on their perceived weaknesses. Danielle along with her mother, Marianne St. Clair have developed a nationally recognized program, The Drop Your Reins Experience is giving children and parents new skills to over come their fears, ways to manage their energy on demand, raise their confidence and self-esteem using natural horsemanship, so when they return to school they are on a new path of success.

On May 30 and June 25 & 26, some local ADD and Autistic children had the opportunity to participate in Danielle’s revolutionary program involving horses helping families learn new tools for success. The horse mirrors you and assist you in “Seeing the REAL you through the horse’s view.”

Dave Davis brought his son Dalton, who was having anger management issues to get some one on one work to overcome some of his fears and ability to better manage his anger. He learned a powerful lesson in forgiveness and how to thank the person whom he was angry towards. At the end of the DYR Experience Dalton had a huge smile on his face and was able to speak with greater confidence.

This was most definitely one of the greatest experiences I have had with my little Daaci Carolina so far. Daaci has a Chromosome Deletion and with that suffers from Sensory Integration Dysfunction and ADHD among other things, when you are missing part of a chromosome, things just do not seem to work together quite as easily as if you had all 46 of them. We have come so far with Daaci and conquered things that Doctors said she would never do. Now we have reached the point in her life when medication is mentioned and her Dad and I are not ready for that.

“I found Danielle on the Cheers Website and I know now it was the best thing I could’ve done for Daaci. I cried when I watched the youtube of Danielle working with the children. What a special young lady, she has a gift. How amazing to learn from this young lady how Daaci is feeling sometimes. Then to take her out and sit little tiny Daaci on this huge animal and teach her to build her confidence by letting go and putting her arms in the air, this just clicked with Daaci. I was able to have her focus on that for the rest of the weekend. Thank you for allowing me to experience this with my daughter,” said Gina Lampp.

Emily Leibemdorfer said, “I wish I could have had this for all my children, grandchildren and even myself, It is wonderful learning and I can see progress in the participants already. It’s almost like magic.”

“I was so impressed by Danielle Herb and the “Drop Your Reins” experience. She was poised, eloquent, and inspiring. I was amazed at how the children gained self-confidence and self-respect after just a few minutes of training with her. She is a great young leader and I look forward to working with her, and CHEERS Horse Ranch in the future. Thank you both for all that you do for the children of Nassau County.” Stacy Johnson, Nassau County Commissioner

While summer vacations are just beginning and the kids are out looking to have some fun in the sun it can be a turning point for your family like the children who attended the DYR Experience. Danielle Herb is able to reach the children on their level and assists them to reach new levels of confidence. Her program is impacting the parents as well as the children. Marianne and Danielle work together as a mother and daughter duo helping families gain a greater sense of love in their relationships and empower them to rise up to face the challenges they will face in life together as a team. They are a tremendous inspiration at a time when many parents are looking for solutions to their complexed parenting challenges.
