Over the years I fell in love with the movie Dirty Dancing as most girls and women have. I started watching the movie when I was around 9 years old.

I loved watching the magic of Patrick Swayze’s dancing.

Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray’s connection while they danced made everyone sit on the edge of their chair. They made an amazing team. I can remember when me and my best friend would turn up the Dirty Dancing sound track and would dance around. We tired to think that our dancing look like Jennifer Gray’s, but we weren’t even close.

The movie touched us as well as many people’s hearts and inspired them to try something new or to step out and be different.

I have many connections to this movie. My dad past away two years ago and the last song I danced with my him was “I have had the time of my life”. This song was the final dance song in the movie. I am so blessed to have that memory to hang on to.

Now every time I watch the movie or hear that song I go right back to the dance floor where he and I twirled around.

On March 2009 my mom suprised me with a visit to the Montian Lake Resort in Virginia where Dirty Dancing was filmed.

We were on our way home from a seminar put on by world known internet marketer, Yanik Silver called the UnderGround 5 in Washington D.C..  My mom has always known how much I loved that movie and how it inspired me to not let people push me around even if they have more money then I do. We took a detour and the movie above is a few of the pictures we captured  on our magical journey to this majestic bit of heaven in the mountains of Virginia. It was peaceful and there was hardly anyone around.

The snow had just fallen and icicles were twinkling from the trees making the most incredible music.

Thank you Patrick Swayze for inspiring this little girl, who will remember you forever.

What a sweet memory created in the heart of a sweet girl. Danielle, magic will continue to happen for you as you create from your heart and not your head. Those who find their way to your teaching and guidance will always have that memory, just like the little girl twirling with her father on a dance floor years ago.

Did you know portions of that movie were also filmed in lake Lure, NC? The stage and the long winding stairs were still there years ago when I visited it last about 10 years ago.

We will miss you Patrick! Peace be the journey!
